CHIBAS is a not-for-profit organization based in Haiti. It is an institute founded with the goal of establishing a research center on bio-energy and sustainable agriculture in order to help develop the technologies needed for the development of the bio-fuel sector in Haiti. CHIBAS is working to promote the growth of sweet sorghum and Jatropha, which can be used as sources of food, livestock feed, and energy. The organization also aims to become a source of information and technical assistance, aiding in project designs and investment strategies for Haitian farmers and communities.1
