Car Roof Photovoltaic Panels

photovoltaic panels on car roof tops:a much neglected segment of power conserving opportunity.. it is nice to imagine that the air-conditioning and other drive power demands can be effectively addressed with a one time investment in these panels.. should govt. agencies goad such efforts or that the car makers ( at least from now onwards ) form a consotium to evolve the needed standardizedmodules?
