The Clean Energy Group (CEG) is a national U.S. nonprofit organization that does research, consulting, and project management to promote clean energy policies, develop low-carbon technology innovation strategies, and create new financial tools to help stabilize greenhouse gas emissions. Established in 1998 in Montpelier, Vermont, and with staff in Washington, DC and Chicago, CEG's partners and clients include stakeholders from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors at the state, national, and international levels.  In 2002, CEG created and now manages the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA), a national nonprofit alliance of 20 state-based U.S. public clean energy funds and programs.1
