Check the Climate Lab wiki to see if the same page already exists before creating a new page. If there is a page on a very similar topic, consider contributing to the existing article.
Use the search bar to check the wiki for related article topics to yours. You can also use the site map to peruse existing articles.

Watch this short Climate Lab HOW TO video, which provides an introduction to getting started on the Climate Lab wiki. The video can help you become familiar with the basic structure, elements, and features of a wiki article.
Once you have checked to make sure the same or similar article does not already exist on the wiki, you're ready to create a page and start writing! Here are some recommendations and suggestions to generally keep in mind as you create your wiki page.

Perhaps the best way to familiarize yourself with the wiki page structure, elements and features is to edit an existing page. For more information, see How to Edit the Climate Lab Wiki.
Templates can help organize your new article and provide consistency to different categories of articles. The templates button is in your page editor and allows you to choose between a number of preset templates that, when selected, automatically insert suggested sections into your page according the category of page you're planning on writing.
For example, if you're writing an article about solar panels, you might choose to use the "Technology" template, which would insert the sections such as “Background,” “Technology basics,” “Applications,” “Advantages,” “Barriers,” “Costs,” etc.
The Climate Lab wiki is for anyone interested in issues related to climate change—from professional researchers and policy experts to community-level activists. At the same time, articles should aim to provide useful and applicable information for those people actively working on climate change issues on a day-t0-day basis to create positive change. "What would someone researching this particular topic professionally, or because they want to take action in their community, want to know about this topic? What information is useful and practical?"
For suggestions on how to write effective wiki articles, see the Principles of Article Writing.
The Create New Page button in the yellow navigational bar only appears when you're logged in, so you may not have been logged in when you were trying to create a page. If you have an account and are logged in and you still don't see the Create New Page in the upper left-hand side of the yellow bar, definitely let Climate Lab know through the "Contact" button on the left-hand side bar.
Thanks and sorry for the trouble.
